God always completes what He starts.
I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]! – Psalm 57:2, AMP
Have you ever known people who continuously fail to finish what they started? It’s one thing to have a project interrupted due to some unforeseen circumstance that cannot be overcome. It’s another thing entirely when the project doesn’t get finished because the person behind the project doesn’t have the fortitude to deal with circumstances that can be overcome. We may love and adore those people who regularly fail in finishing the job, but we’ve learned not to trust them with anything important because we know they won’t be able to guide the work to completion.
There are times in life when God’s work in our lives seems at a standstill. When we encounter such times, it is easy to get discouraged, especially when the work being done is something we are really excited about. Perhaps a project we’ve been working on for Christ comes to a standstill. Perhaps a relationship we’ve been cultivating for Christ suddenly grows cold. Or perhaps we were enjoying a close relationship with Christ, but we now feel distant from Him. In all such cases, we need to remember that, although the activity is for some reason at a temporary standstill, God has not and will not abandon His work in our lives. As a matter of fact, God uses even those moments of inactivity as part of His most important work in our lives, which is His molding of us into the image of Christ. It is when our progress seems stymied that God stretches our faith, strengthens our patience, builds up our endurance, and bolsters our resolve to trust God, no matter what.
God always finishes what He starts. When His work in your life seems at a standstill, wait, be still, and know that He is God. At the right time and in the best way, He will resume the work for your betterment and for His glory.
