BEST OF TQFG: When God’s advice and man’s advice conflict, go with what God says.

We hope you enjoy this re-post from January 31, 2013. Be blessed! The Today’s Quote From God Team

To reveal (unveil, disclose) His Son within me so that I might proclaim Him among the Gentiles (the non-Jewish world) as the glad tidings (Gospel), immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood [did not consult or counsel with any frail human being or communicate with anyone]. – Galatians 1:16, Amplified Bible

Sam is a very humble man. He is also a man who is obedient to The Lord.

Just a few short years ago Sam had a Heavenly burden to return to college. He knew God wanted him to be a preacher, and he needed to prepare himself by studying for the ministry. The problem was that his schedule at his current job was too demanding to allow him to return to school. Realizing that his job was obstructing God’s plan for his life, he quit his job and registered for college. He had no idea how he would pay for school, let alone how he would support his wife and two children. He just knew he was doing what The Lord wanted him to do.

Right after he quit his job and registered for college, Sam received a phone call from an employer he had applied to for a job three years prior – and had not heard from since. The job was part-time, but the schedule, the pay, and the benefits were sufficient to support Sam’s family while he attended school. There were still financial needs regarding school bills, but miraculously God provided the funds for each and every need. Today, Sam is about four months away from graduating with his seminary degree. Soon he will be a pastor of a church, living out the Heavenly vision given to him by God.

Sometimes miracles await us on the other side of tough decisions. Decisions like Sam’s make no sense to our common sense, which simply goes to show that our common sense is no match for God’s supernatural sense. There will be times when God will tell you to do something that no human being on the planet will support. But when He sends such a message, you are not to consult your human advisors to ask if it makes sense to obey God. The message is for you and you alone, which is why obeying it makes sense only to you and you alone. In such times of decision, do what the Apostle Paul did in Galatians 1:16 and what Sam is doing right now – simply obey.
