BEST OF TQFG: To feel alone and afraid is horrible.

We hope you enjoy this re-post from February 19, 2015. Be blessed! The Today’s Quote From God Team

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. – Psalm 139:8, KJV

To feel alone and afraid is horrible, and so many things in life can make us feel alone, afraid, or both. Horrible injury, chronic illness, broken relationships, shattered dreams, and financial ruin are just a few examples of things that can cast us into the dungeon of despair, where loneliness and fear reign. In the midst of the dungeon, though, there is ALWAYS a glimmer of light and of hope, and that glimmer is the reality that God is EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE we can ever find ourselves.

As Psalm 139:8 reminds us, God is in heaven, in hell, and in all places in between. Jeremiah 23:24 reiterates this truth, stating, “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.” Hebrews 4:13 concurs, stating that, “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” The point? You may feel afraid. You may feel alone. You may think that sin or pain or illness or shattered relationships have separated you from the presence, watchcare, and overseership of the Maker. But no matter what is happening to you, no matter what you’ve done, and no matter how you feel, nothing can separate you from the gaze and love of the Almighty.

If sin has hurt your relationship with God, confess your sin so that He can forgive your sin and restore His fellowship with you. If you have great care or pain or illness weighing you down, remember that God will never never leave you nor forsake you, and remember that He WANTS you to cast your cares upon Him so that He can bear them for you. Ask God for forgiveness, if need be. Ask God for help, if need be. Then rest easy as you watch God fulfill His promises in your life – as He always does.
