We hope you enjoy this re-post from October 19, 2013. Be blessed! The Today’s Quote From God Team

Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. – Psalm 27:14, Amplified Bible (AMP)

King David faced more horrors than most of the people whose stories are recorded in the Bible. Regularly hunted down like wild game by enemies both foreign and domestic, David was well acquainted with anxiety and fear. Despite this, David is a staunch example of bravery and courage in the midst of danger, but the question is, “How did he do it?” How could David face down Goliath without flinching? How could David stand tall when pursued by Saul? How could David slay ten thousands of Israel’s enemies when the physically stronger Saul could only slay his thousands? The answer lies within David’s hopeful, expectant spirit.

Whether we face the worst circumstances with courage or fear is dependent upon what we place our hope in. When we place our hope in anything or anyone but the Almighty Creator, then there is room for doubt to get a foothold – and where this is doubt, there is fear. But, when we place our hope completely in our God, then no matter what may come, we expect that all things will work together for them that love God and are called according to His purpose. From the knowledge that God knows what is best for us – and with the expectation that God will always act on what He knows is best – we can face the worst with a stout heart.

No matter what battle you are facing now, you can conquer your fear by placing your hope and your expectation in The Lord. God’s best for you at the end of the struggle may or may not take the shape you would like it to take, but have courage in the fact that any uncertainty you experience today has already been defeated by the reality that, as a born-again believer, you will spend a glorious eternity with your Lord!
