…And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion? – Esther 4:14, Amplified Bible (AMP)

A missionary family in the country of Panama recently received a questionnaire from the Panamanian immigration office. After filling out and returning the questionnaire, the family received another communication from the immigration office – get out of Panama in fifteen days, or else!

Shortly after the family received their notice to vacate, the President of Panama was holding a reception for various dignitaries. Attending the reception was Mr. Jan Milton, the Founder and President of Operation Renewed Hope, a Christ-centered nonprofit medical missions and disaster relief agency that had provided much-needed relief to the people of Panama. When Jan was introduced to the Panamanian President, the President thanked Jan for all of the help that ORH had provided to his people. Jan responded:

“You and your people are welcome. It’s a shame we won’t be able to help you in the future.”

“Why is that?” the President asked.

“Well,” Jan said, “Operation Renewed Hope only works through local missionaries. Your country has told the missionaries we work with to leave. Once they are gone, we won’t be back.”

Fifteen days later, the missionaries were still in Panama, and the immigration official who had ordered the missionaries to leave Panama was looking for work.

Just as God placed Esther in the right place at the right time to save the Hebrews from destruction at the hands of the conniving Haman, God placed Jan Milton in the right place at the right time to save His precious missionary family from deportation at the hands of a biased immigration official. God is able to preserve His people (and their work for Him) no matter what Satan throws at them, and that means He is able to save YOU (and YOUR work for Him) from Satan’s most ferocious attacks.

Whatever obstacle you are facing now, and whatever attacks are yet to come, God prepared the solution to the problem years and years ago. Esther was born years before Haman ever dreamed up his scheme, and Operation Renewed Hope was birthed years before its clout was needed to enable a missionary family to continue working for Christ. God is not spontaneous. He is a planner, and He has already prepared the solutions to all of the problems that threaten your work for Him.
